There are a large range of products available to help people who have sight, communication and physical problems. These are supported by a range of peripherals, monitors and magnifiers. Here are a sample of the products we supply and support. If you need anything which is not included here please ring and the team will help you. The products are divided into software and non-software solutions.
SOFTWARE
We can provide support and training for any of the following products:
JAWS
This is stands for Job Access With Speech and is used by people with very low or no sight and is, therefore a speech engine, reading what appears on the screen, assuming that the screen has been constructed correctly!
If there are problems with system screen construction, or even if it is just your company's website, we can help too!
Often JAWS users will not have their monitors turned on - do not let this fool you into thinking that they are not doing any work !

This is magnification software, with an integrated speech engine. We have worked closely with Dolphin in the development of this product. We can supply and support this product - so please call for a demonstration.
It can read in a range of languages, including Welsh, so you would not fall short of the Welsh Language Act!
There is a new product on the market from Dolphin - Easy Converter - and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It converts basic text into large print or Braille. It can also produce output to a daisy book or onto an MP3 player - all at the touch of a button. Call for a demonstration.

I find the Dolphin Pen a very useful tool, I can move from one machine to another without the hassle or worry of whether my Assistive Technology software will load. This enables me to be able to use it both in the office and at home.
Simple things such as shopping for holidays is now thankfully a lot easier. Since travel agents mostly now use windows based PCs I can plug the Dolphin Pen into their machine and discover the different hotels and flights as the travel agent identifies them in front of me on their PC.
I find that it saves my personal settings really rather well. Ensuring I don’t have to re-set them every time I plug the pen into a different computer.
On a practical level – you may have restricted access to the USB port, or it may be in a position which means you may knock the Supernova pen. However these are easily remedied hardware issues, rather than an issue with the Dolphin Pen itself.
This is voice recognition software, therefore it is suitable for people who struggle using mice or key boards. We can provide full supply and support for this product - so please call for a demonstration.
For example, people with dexterity problems. It is also helpful for people with dyslexia.

Since having a car accident in June 2006 I have found Dragon to be incredibly helpful, as it has removed the need for me to use the mouse and keyboard in the majority of circumstances. I can't recommend it enough !
MIXED SOLUTIONS
Adults - Dyslexia - Access provide a dyslexia screening service and relevant training for dyslexia awareness. This organisation has been developed by Steve O'Brien based on his learning experiences and living with dyslexia.

Jarik Staffs offer a full range of hardware solutions and specialist software which are developed for use by people with a range of difficulties. These range from hand held magnifiers, to a ReadEasy, and Visio, for sight conditions. There is also a specialist software for people with limited computer experience, or learning difficulties.

Magnification devices
This company produces a range of portable magnifies, ranging from the Pocket Reader 2, which has a 4" lcd screen, to the Companion 3, with an 8" screen which is ideal for University and college students. Please call for a demonstration.
Optima
We also use the company for the supply of a range of products from hand held magnifies, stand magnifies, pocket magnifies, monoculars and binoculars, spectical mounted magnifies, to video magnifiers and monitors. Please ask for details of the full range of products.
Keyboards
There are a range of different keyboards available to suit all levels of ability. For example there are single handed (left and right), soft touch, a range of ergonomic, ones with large keys, which come in a number of different colour combinations.
We can supply and train specifically on Malton single handed and also Dvorak. We can also produce these keyboards with large or standard keys. Please ask for a demonstration.
Mouse
There is an extensive range of hand operated and foot operated mouse alternatives available on the market. We can investigate all of these and ensure that you are offered the best advise and support. Others
There are a number of other peripherals available which support people in both work and home life. For example, there are a number of head sets available for use with Dragon and splitters to allow you to "split" between voice operation of the computer and the telephone.
Specialist equipment is not limited to software, there is an extensive range of specialist furniture available, which we can advise on and supply. There is also support available with stationery too, for example "fat pens".
There are a number of options for people with hearing problems, for example TextType, and we can offer you support with this.
