A typical PC or laptop system could be described and supplied as follows:

Pentium 4, 2+Ghz processor, 1 / 2gb of RAM memory, 60 / 120gb hard disk, high speed DVD or CD reader/writer, graphics and sound adaptor, broadband ready, windows Vista or 7 operating system, keyboard, mouse, speaker, scanner, printer, and monitor (17”or 19”). Dependent on the supplier we have available, there are a wide range of styles, with warranties up to 3 years.

We can supply laptops, desktops, keyboard (ZPC9100), or tower systems, as well as specialist software. Training can also be arranged locally.

Guide

Guide is an ideal solution for anyone with little or no experience of computer technology.

With Guide you can have anal-in-one computer and software package, or have the software and load it onto any pc.

When you switch on your pc, Guide will open automatically and offer you a list of options, just use the arrow keys to choose the options and press enter.  It is easy, with a little practice, to write letters and documents, scan and read books, send and receive e-mails, surf the internet, listen to radio stations, print pictures from your digital camera, amongst many other functions.

Guide-Handfree

Guide handsfree offers all the same features as Guide, and is just as easy to use.  However, it also allows you to fully control Guide with just your voice.  Guide handsfree can be used without a keyboard and mouse, although you can use them if you wish.

Window-Eyes is about letting you hear and feel all the world has to offer without a lot of technical hassles. Window-Eyes gives complete control over what you hear and how you hear it, with Braille support this is extended to what you feel and how you feel it.

JAWS (Job Access With Speech)

One of the most commonly used screen readers used today. It can be used with any windows application, and with a very large range of extra set files available to customise JAWS to work with your choice of application.

Supernova

Supernova is probably one of the most fast developing products on the, market, giving a great range of features for low vision (Lunar and Lunar Plus), and blind (HAL).  Supernova combines magnification, speech and Braille output in one program.  This is to benefit individuals and establishments, with a range of visual impairment requirements. Each section “Magnification” (Lunar), “Magnification with speech” (Lunar Plus), “Speech” (Hal) or “Braille” (Cipher) can be purchased individually when only one part of the package is required.

USB pen

You can now carry your screen reader with you wherever you go.  Just plug the USB pen loaded with Supernova, Lunar or Hal into a suitable pc and within seconds you are using your own access software, with all your own settings saved on the pen – a fully portable screen reader or magnifier !
